Step 2: On-Site Water Testing & Plumbing Inspection
On the scheduled day, our experienced water treatment specialists will arrive at your home for the water test and plumbing inspection. We’ll collect and analyze a sample of the water onsite and test for hard water minerals, total dissolved solids, chlorine, pH, and iron. Our team will then inspect your plumbing system to assess its condition and identify any potential issues that might affect the performance of the water treatment equipment.
Step 3: Personalized Water Treatment Recommendation and Installation Plan
After completing the water testing and plumbing inspection, we will analyze the gathered data to design a tailored water treatment solution for your specific needs. Hardness Minerals
What it is – hard water contains calcium and magnesium minerals which bond with everything they touch leaving “limescale” in their wake.

Iron
What it is – Iron can come in a couple of different forms including dissolved and non-dissolved. Both of these can leave red/orange stains on your sinks, tubs, and toilets and can be extremely hard to remove. Iron can also cause bacteria to grow and let off an unpleasant smell.
Chlorine
What it is – Chlorine is a chemical used by municipal & local water treatment plants to reduce harmful bacteria in the water supply. While this sounds good, chlorine and chloramines can cause a bacteria of their own to grow called trihalomethanes (TTHM) which is quite unsafe to drink or bathe in.
Chromium 6
A new study by the Environmental Working Group reports that local drinking water contains hexavalent chromium, a toxic metal that has been linked to cancer. While the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency does not require the testing for the metal, the survey found that levels in our local water were pushing the levels proposed as a safety limit by authorities. This contaminant has been proven to cause cancer. Dirt & Sediment
What it is – dirt & sediment is just as it sounds. This is typically most common in well water or surface water that hasn’t gone through a treatment facility.
Treatment – Dirt and sediment are found in almost all water supplies and will decrease the efficiency and lifespan of your appliances. For example, sediment in a water heater can prevent the heat from transferring to the water in the tank once sediment has built up in the bottom. Other Contaminants

I found VA Water through a search, and discovered that they service any water treatment system, regardless of who installed it.
I filled out the service request form on their website, and within 15 minutes or less, Vlad called me, and we discussed what my service needs were. I sent pictures of my system to him, and he told me what he suspected and sent me a quote for service with an hour. Once I approved and signed the service quote, we scheduled a service visit for about 6 days later.
The next morning, I received an unexpected call from Vlad, saying they had a cancellation in their schedule and he could come out to service my system this morning! He arrived on time and confirmed the issue with my system. As he was completing the work, he ran into an unexpected problem. Right away, he took care of the additional problem and had everything back together and working. My system is now operating exactly as it should be!
He even took the time to make sure I understood exactly how to program the system and what to do if we ever have an extended power failure. Even though he had to do some additional work that wasn't part of the scheduled service, he did not add additional charges to my bill.
